Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Penny app and its services during the beta. By using Penny you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Penny.

1. The beta

Penny is currently in beta. Features may change, be interrupted, or be removed, and — despite the export and sync safeguards we build — you should not treat a beta as your only copy of anything irreplaceable. We may suspend or end the beta at any time.

2. Your account

You can use Penny anonymously on one device, or create an account with your email to back up and sync your memories. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use Penny.

3. Your content

Your memories are yours. You keep all rights to everything you capture in Penny. You grant Penny only the limited license needed to operate the service for you — storing, transcribing, categorizing, searching, and resurfacing your content. We never use your memories to train AI models, and we never sell or share them, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export or permanently delete all of your data at any time from Settings.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Penny to break the law, to harm others, to probe or disrupt the service, or to attempt to access another person's data. We may suspend accounts that do.

5. Subscriptions

Penny is free during the beta. When paid plans launch, pricing is shown in the app before you are ever charged, billing runs through the App Store / Google Play, and subscriptions can be cancelled there at any time. Penny never stores payment details.

6. Commerce shortcuts

Penny may show optional retailer shortcuts for things you noted you want to buy. Some use affiliate links, which may earn Penny a commission at no extra cost to you. They can be disabled in Settings. Purchases are made with the retailer, not Penny.

7. Disclaimers

Penny is provided "as is" during the beta, without warranties of any kind. AI-derived organization, transcription, and suggestions can be wrong — verify anything important. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Penny's liability for any claim arising out of the beta is limited to the amount you paid for the service (which, during the beta, is zero).

8. Ending things

You can stop using Penny and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. Sections 3, 7, and 9 survive termination.

9. Changes & contact

We may update these terms as Penny grows; material changes will be announced in the app, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions: hello@sungwoopark.com.
